BLUEFEST 2016: Day 3

Well hello again from a very wet Byron Bay. Day three saw a number of firsts for us with Hiatus Kayote, Eagles Of Death Metal. The Decemberists, Vintage Trouble, St. Paul & The Broken Bones. We also caught Tedeschi Trucks second and last show of the festival, these guys were so damn good on Day one we just had to see them again, one of the tightest and smoothest bands we’ve ever seen.

We will be kicking of a day four with the Central Coast’s Grizzle Train, winners of the 2014 Bluesfest Busking comp, keep a eye on Newcastle Live for them and all the other bands we’ll be catching today.

At 16 years old, on a balmy May Friday night way back in 1975. I rolled up to the Forestville Youth Centre (The Forrie Bop) tickets were a couple of dollars and the band on the night included the likes of Bon Scott, Angus Young, Malcolm Young, Paul Matters and Phil Rudd, yes ‘ACDC’ all for $2.00, can you believe that.

  1. Hey Steph, We have no doubt he was awesome on Saturday night, we were shooting on other stages that Night, with a festival the size of Bluesfest it’s impossible to cover every stage and set, We shot Joe on Monday night and he will be in our Day five gallery and round up later this week, and yes he did blitz it on Monday night as well, just brilliant1
