Do you love the idea of soaking up some tubthumping blues, while sipping the amber fluid as you prepare to sink your teeth into a some mouthwatering BBQ?
Well, you’re in luck as that holy triumvirate of tastiness will be highlighted at the upcoming Belmont Beers Blues and BBQ Festival.
The celebration of the glorious three Bs will take place at the picturesque Belmont South Foreshore (adding yet another worthwhile B into the mix) on May 25 and blues aficionados will be in heaven with a line-up featuring some of the best blues acts to ever grace Australian stages.
The bill is lead by seminal outfit the Bondi Cigars, who have been plying their trade around Australian traps since 1989, and blues powerhouse Kevin Borich who has become one of the most resected guitar slingers on the circuit, thanks to his work in the likes of The Kevin Borich Express, The La De Das and hard rockers The Party Boys.
The line-up will be rounded out by local hero and DV8 stalwart Greg Bryce, who will have the crowd on their feet with the Greg Bryce Blues Band, and fellow Novocastrian bluesmeisters Catfish Soup.
Aside from some world-class tunes, the festval will also feature a slew of cuisine from around the world, lashings of the best craft beer on the market – all while drinking in the tranquil surrounds of the shores of Lake Macquarie.
“Nothing beats barbecue, cold beer and great music. Combined with the gorgeous foreshore of Lake Macquarie, we are sure our first Belmont, Beers Blues and BBQ event will be a huge success,” Lake Mcquarie Council’s manager of arts, culture and tourism Jacqui Hemsley said.
“Getting together to experience well-known Australian blues musicians, and enjoy craft breweries and delicious food from some of the best regional barbecue chefs is what living in Lake Macquarie is all about – having fun and loving life.”
If the beers, blues and BBQ isn’t enough to satiate your desire for a banging time, the festival will also feature eye catching illumination sculptures, roving performance artists and opportunities to meet some of the bbq chefs to pick up some grill tips.
