The Beach Hotel in Merewether will reopen today after closing for renovations over 18 months ago.
One of the city’s most iconic pubs, The Beaches renovation has revitalised the main bar area and given new life to the terrace looking over the coastline.
Its reopening will also coincide with the launch of a new top-floor dining venue called Peregrin which officially opens in January.
The restaurant will serve up Aussie classics like Potato Scallops with vinegar sea salt, homemade Sausage Rolls with a kick of chipotle ketchup alongside stuff like fresh Snapper Ceviche with cassava chips, jalapeno, lime and coconut, and Salmon Crudo with green goddess, cucumber, and chilli.
Live music is also back on the menu at the hotel with some of the Hunter’s most loved talent taking to the iconic stage throughout the week.
“The Beach Hotel has always been so much more than a pub,” Hotelier, Glenn Piper said.
“With each venue at The Beach Hotel, the team and I have paid homage to the rich and storied history of Merewether.
“Larrie’s harks back to the local fish & chip shops of our youth; photographs, furnishings and even bricks collected from The Beach Hotel’s many eras have been given a fresh coat of paint and sit pride of place in the main bar; and finally, Peregrin.”
You’ll be able to check it out for yourself when they open the doors today, Friday 22 December 2023, at 4 pm. You can find The Beach Hotel at 99 Frederick Street in, Merewether.
