300 firefighters from Sydney, Newcastle, the Central Coast have worked around the clock since Sunday battling a fire at an industrial estate in Weston.
Adding to the complexity of the blaze, ๏ปฟlarge quantities of bottled hand sanitiser, paint, rubber, plastics and aluminium dross are all on the site.
Federal MP for Paterson Meryl Swanson told Newcastle Live Radio that homeowners have been told to stay inside since Sunday morning.
