The massive upstairs room plays host to touring acts like Friendly Jordies, local acts like Kisstory and the amazing From A Distance Sessions. Downstairs you’ll find friendly locals and visitors looking for a laidback spot to enjoy a drink and a meal from the bistro. It’s friendly and unpretentious and that’s exactly how we like it.

The Exchange pays tribute to its long history in every aspect what it delivers.

Originally named “The Miners Exchange”, this iconic Newcastle venue has undergone many renovations in the 140 years since its doors first opened, however, the history of the venue is still present in every corner. Cocktails on the balcony, lunch and dinner in the restaurant, fun events every month and live music every Friday and Saturday night.

#PROTIP: The pizza at The Exchange is next level. Aim for the classic Margherita.
