We’ve long been a fan of Charlestown-based eatery Bao Brothers here at Newcastle Live – especially when their delicious street food inspired treats were just a stone’s throw away from our office (those were the days).
Well, despite being a restaurant that likes to think outside the box, their latest innovation puts everything squarely back into it.
That’s right, lunch fans. The popular restaurant has just unleashed the Bao Brothers Bento Box and we just can’t wait to grab one.
A staple of Japanese lunchtime (and also popular in China, Taiwan, and Korea) the Bento is, for the uninitiated, a single portion take out or home packed meal often stuffed with rice or noodles, meat and veges.
And the Bao Bento Box is sure to satiate even the hungriest of diners, with each box containing a Bao of your choice, a pork filled bun with hot sauce, a BBQ Pork Spring Roll and the addictive-as-heck Crack Slaw.
Vego’s are not left out of the equation, either with a meat free variety containing a Mushroom Bao, a Vego Filled Bun, a Mushroom Spring Roll and, of course that delicious Crack Slaw
Well, it looks like lunch is sorted!
Bao Brothers is located at The Corner Precinct, Charlestown Square, Westfield Kotara and Stockland Greenhills. Head here for more info.
