They are the Aussie country rock titans featuring Newcastle’s own Troy Kemp.
Now, after five years off the stage, McAllister Kemp have announced their long-awaited return to the live arena.
The boys will kick off at Tamworth’s Longyard Hotel as part of the Toyota Country Music Festival on Saturday 25 January.
While there is no word on a Newcastle date as yet, there always has been a heck of a lot of love for the boys in this neck of the woods, so don’t be surprised if they hit our part of the world sometime soon.
The duo, consisting of Troy and Drew McAlister is one of the most successful Australian country music acts of the last decade with a swag of number-one singles, albums, and Golden Guitar awards.
From the immediate breakout success of their debut album All Kinds of Tough’ in 2010 through to their parting in 2015, the pair earned their stripes as one of the highest-selling and most consistent touring acts in Australia.
“Our split was far from acrimonious,” Drew said.
“But we realised that we are brothers and what we created is special to us and a bunch of other people too.”
Troy added: “We’re thrilled to have the chance to take these songs back to the fans that were there with us all the way.”
