The City Of Newcastle is inviting you to get outdoors and soak up all that our beautiful city has to offer this Australia Day.
The harbour will come alive with the traditional Newcastle Harbour swim, including a single and double-crossing event. Also in the harbour during the day you’ll see entrants competing in the 750m swim event as part of the Oceania Paratriathlon.
The Fort Scratchley Historical Society will be firing the canons throughout the day (see more details below). This will include a firing of an historic 80-pound gun that the society has been restoring for two years. It’s the first time it will be fired in almost 100 years.
Sports fans should head over to No 2 Sportsground for the NRL Touch Football 2020 Youth Trans-Tasman Test Series that will see Kiwi sides take on some of our best local players. And the Foreshore will come alive with a carnival atmosphere filled with live entertainment, food trucks, parkour & skateboard workshops, an inflatable land and heaps more.
Check out the schedule of events below for more details.
