Artist Spotlight: Cornstalk

Local rock band Cornstalk have been delivering solid shows locally and internationally for a number of years now. With an album promised to drop before the end of 2014 we thought we’d shine our artist spotlight in their direction.

Cornstalk  are a melodic six piece. Over the past years the band have been named in the top 4 bands in Australia to compete for The World Battle of The Bands to represent Australia, along with a few of their tracks from there earlier released self-titled EP being aired on many commercial radio stations.

The band have been independently producing and recording there soon to be released 12 track album, mixed by Nathaniel Chan, that will impress music lovers from all ends of the globe. Cornstalk is definitely a band to see live in concert, as brothers Chris & Shayne Hamall bring soulful and rich harmonies to the band, along with Kane Starkey’s melodic cutting edge blues solo’s.

The guys has performed alongside of many well-known Blues & Roots acts from around Australia and International acts, delivering nothing but quality performances. The band was nominated for three Awards late 2013 for the Indie Music Oz Awards with tracks from their upcoming album, the bands single release “Great Love” was ranked number 8 in the top 10 Video Awards for 2013 in Australia.
