The good folk over at Dashville have dropped the first line-up announcement for the upcoming 2019 Dashville Skyline and it’s a ripper!
One of Australia’s most Archie Roach celebrated songwriters, Archie Roach, will bring his inimitable style to the Skyline stage.
Archie’s 1990 debut record Charcoal Lane, a deeply personal record that drew on the songwriter’s life as a member of the Stolen Generation and his years spent living on the streets, remains a powerful document.
As such it was added to the National Film and Sound Archive registry. Revered by his peers, Roach has continued to release exceptional albums since his lauded debut, and remains one of our country’s most important artists.
The rest of the first announcement is enough to have alt.country and roots fans salivating with New Zealand-based queen of honky-tonk Tami Neilson and Perth powerhouse The Kill Devil Hills who are making their long-awaited return to the Hunter.
And the boxes keep getting ticked. Just check out the rest of this announcement; Kevin Bennett and the Flood, Fanny Lumsden, Alibi and the Wolves (NZ), Skyscraper Stan and the Commission Flats, Hannah Aldridge, Little Quirks, The Re-Mains, Archer and Kangaroos With Machine Guns, Ahlia Williams, Leo Rondeau, Suicide Swans,Emily Wurramara, and Andy Abra and the Big River Band.
Wow. Just wow.
