Newcastle’s pre-eminent connoisseurs of all things soul, DeeJay Tone and Dan Phelan, are back at the Lucky Country Hotel this weekend, spinning all the platters that matter.
These vintage vinyl vultures have been digging deep in their record crates to take you back in time to the golden years – spinning an all vinyl selection of soul, funk, Motown, and rhythm and blues.
The Sunday Soul Sessions offer up an all-killer-no-filler couple of hours of dancefloor fillers that could include anything from the likes of Aretha Franklin and James Brown to BB King and Bo Diddley.
With this weekend being somewhat of a festival fiesta in Newcastle, what with the likes of Live At The Foreshore, The Drop and Up Down kicking off, a few quiet ales with some mates while listening to some of the grooviest tunes ever committed to wax could be the the perfect antidote to the large crowd vibe.
The Sunday Soul Sessions is on at The Lucky Hotel on Sunday 17 March from 5pm to 10pm.
