Adrian Buckley’s Desert 5

First cab off the rank in our Desert 5 series is local muso and promoter Adrian Buckley.

Adrian’s band, Sugar have been playing around the Hunter for the last few months to rave reviews and his promotion of Wollombi Music Festival has seen the event become one of the most loved in the region.

Adrian’s list is eclectic and diverse and features some of the music he grew up with that went on to inspire his career.

SIGUR ROS – TAKK | I heard this album for the first time on a freezing cold night in the Blue Mountains & it’s soundscapes & overall haunting sound just changed the way I thought about music

RAY LAMONTAGUE – TROUBLE | Trouble I’ve always been a huge fan of Ray’s voice & this album for me is just full of soul.

FLEETWOOD MAC – BOSTON BLUES  I love the sound of Pete Green’s guitar & there is an energy in this album that is just so gutsy.

THE THE – SOUL MINING | This album is basically the defining album of my teen years. I listened to it over & over again until I knew every word, every note & it is just a classic 80’s album.

MAXWELL – URBAN HANG SUITE | This is cocktails, sun & good times.

Adrian is currently promoting this year Wollombi Music Festival and the Into the Valley arts and music festival.
