It seems that the good ideas department over at Susuru Ramen and Gyoza has done it again.
After wowing Newcastle noodle slurpers with the recent Wagyu Rib Kuppa ramen collab with Binnie Beef, the East End eatery is back with the second in its Farm To Bowl series…and it’s an absolute cracker.
This time around it’s pork’s time to shine and Susuru has collaborated with Jack Hewitt and his Gunnedah-based Oakleigh Pasture Pork farm to produce Jack’s Pork Belly Ramen.
If the thought of pork belly floats your boat, then you’re going to be in hog heaven with this next-level bowl of goodness.
The gorgeous creation combines Seville oranges, bay leaves, star anise, sea salt, cracked pepper, chilli leek ribbons, pickled wild mushrooms and Susuru’s morrish Shio broth, with a hefty helping of Jack’s free range pork belly which is, of course, treated with kid gloves and roasted to perfection.
“Number 2 in our farm to bowl series, A new special ramen that’s been a year in the making,” staff wro3te on social media announcing the collab.
“Our owner, Taiyo, has teamed up with his old Gunnedah farming neighbour @jack_hewitt to bring you a ramen that will fill your belly and warm your soul. 100% free-range organic pork belly direct from Jack’s 400-acre farm located 300km west of Newcastle, producing top range organic pigs from four major breeds.”
Like all good things, Jack’s Pork Belly Ramen will only be on the menu for a limited time so get in QUICK!
