RMI (Regional Music Institute) is Australia’s largest specialist regional music education provider, catering primarily to the Hunter and Central Coast regions and taking in northern and inner western Sydney for those serious about a career in the entertainment industries. We were lucky enough to be invited along to their Tighes Hill campus to take a look at the facilities and we were blown away. Here are 5 things you didn’t know about RMI.

With about 200,000 worth of equipment, the RMI recording studio is really something to behold. They’re got all the latest industry standard recording gear with some very nice vintage pieces thrown in for good measure.

Becoming a student of RMI has many perks, but the one we’re excited about is the access students have to the recording studio. That’s right, you know that 200,000 worth of gear we were telling you about about? Well you can play around with it to record yourself, other students or mate’s bands… Whenever you like!

They have a kick arse flashing Les Paul Guitar!

One of the teachers at RMI plays in a KISS cover band. Therefore the studio at RMI plays host to host kick arse flashing Les Paul custom, pictured below. We’ve really got nothing to add here… just look at this guitar!

They have a live performance practice studio

Are you sick of sounding like a rockstar in your garage and failing badly when it comes to performing live on stage? You can learn the tricks of getting a kick arse live show happening in RMI’s live performance practice studio. It’s got a stage, a PA and mixer and you can get all set up as if you were really playing a show.
