If you’re like us, the best bit of Christmas is all the dessert! And that’s the idea behind 48 Watt Street’s Christmas Dessert Degustation happening on the 13th of December.

If you’ve never been to 48 Watt Street, you’ve certainly heard of their events. They’re the people behind the sold-out Hog Watts experience, 48 Bourbon Street and the True North boiler maker dinner – So, you know you’re in for a real treat.

Kelly Barlow, the person in charge of all the food at 48 Watt Street, says she wanted to create a degustation of Christmas memories that included some of her family favourites and a few twists on the traditional.

“Some of my fondest memories are of sharing Christmas desserts with my family on my Grandparent’s orchard in Victoria. I want to recreate some of those memories and give people a few surprises they’re not expecting.

The 12-course dessert degustation will kick off at 6 pm in the courtyard bar at 48 Watt street where guest will be served the first course with bubbly on arrival. The 48 Watt Street bar will be serving a special Christmas cocktail menu, and their regular beer, wine and spirit offerings.

BITTERSWEET CHRISTMAS BAUBLES
Macadamia and cranberry goats cheese truffle dipped in bittersweet chocolate.

SANTA’S BOOZY FRUIT MINCE TART
A traditional fruit mince pie, with a bit more kick than you’re used to.

CHRISTMAS PANNA COTTA
Brandy spiced panna cotta served with gingerbread crumb and cinnamon cherry coulis.

BRANDIED STONE FRUIT SORBET
A refreshingly drunken sorbet made with seasonal stone fruit.

NANAS PAV
A summery pavlova topped with custard cream and fresh berries.

TRIFLE LAYER CAKE
Your boxing day guilty pleasure brought to life!

CHRISTMAS PUD
Steamed plum pudding served with creme anglaise.

EGGNOG CRÈME BRULEE
A creamy bourbon custard with a crunchy brulee crust.

GOLDEN RUM BALL
Served on a spun sugar nest.

POACHED PEARS
Red wine spice poached paradise pears on smoked yoghurt with walnut crumble

CANDIED CITRUS AND CHEESE
Poached orange slices in cinnamon and chilli syrup served with brie and biscotti

GRILLED PEACH
Served with mascarpone and rosemary syrup.
