This September, Newcastle’s charity Kinfish and Harbour Combat Sports will join forces for an extraordinary undertaking – the 250 for 250 challenge.
The challenge will see locals embarking on a 5-day, 250-kilometre journey along the iconic Great North Walk from Sydney to Newcastle.
It’s a collaborative undertaking that aims to raise both funds and awareness for the local veteran community.
Harbour Combat Sports is a not-for-profit with a mission to provide sponsorships for physically and mentally wounded veterans and first responders to train in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
They have teamed up with Kinfish, a local charity run by Defence Force families and first responders, for the challenge that will leave Sydney, bound for Newcastle, on 18 September.
Organises of the challenge hope that the collaboration will not only raise funds for the cause but also promote the healing power of martial arts.
Kinfish and Harbour Combat Sports are now inviting local supporters, community members, and media representatives to rally behind the 250 for 250 challenge.
