Hunter Valley woman, Shanelle Pescud was married in March 2020 on her grandparent’s property, under a big, beautiful gum tree, mere days before a nation-wide lockdown.
Flash forward to 2022, and she is now one of the 22 finalists in the True Bride Australia, nationwide search for the 2022 Bride of the Year and she wants everyone to get behind her
“I was one of two brides selected as the first finalists back in April 2021,” Shanelle told Newcastle Live
“Now, with the votes set back to zero, Iโm after Newcastle and the Hunter to help crown me the 2021 Bride of the Year!”
Shanelle’s entry also helps showcase Hunter Valley wedding industry suppliers that endured so much loss during the pandemic including Wild Flower Photography, Calvin Estate, local celebrant Joined by Jeff and Wow Flowers.
“To win this, would be an absolute credit to the local vendors,” she said.
But Shanelle also says it wasn’t just wedding professionals that helped create the magic for her big day.
“My pop had built an arbour and also made a stunning chandelier to hang from it to create the ultimate backdrop.”
