The 2015 CONDA Awards will be presented at Wests New Lambton’s Starlight Room on Saturday, November 28 and organizers are promising quite a show.
A theatre awards launch would not be a worthy event without entertainment between the announcements. This year, songs will be presented by young musical theatre performers aged from 14 to the early 20s who are contributing to enriching the already high standards of musicals staged in Newcastle and the Lower Hunter.
CONDA is an acronym for City of Newcastle Drama Awards. The yearly awards were initiated by Newcastle City Council in 1979 to mark the 50th anniversary of its Civic Theatre, and are the longest established continuous theatre awards in a major Australian city.
Tickets for the November 28 Awards night at Wests New Lambton are on sale, and more than half the 450 seats in the Starlight Room venue have already been sold. You can purchase tickets via www.proticket.com.au.
