If you were a young Australian music lover during the late ’80s and early ’90s, you couldn’t have missed 1927 and their string of hits blasting out of the radio.

That’s When I Think Of You, Compulsory Hero, If I Could and You’ll Never Know were all huge hits that propelled 1927 to the top of the charts and to become one of the nation’s biggest bands.

Such was the strength of their live shows and records that 1927 are still drawing capacity crowds wherever they perform. Ahead of a Hunter show in September, lead singer Eric Weideman dropped into The Good Stuff for a chat.
