The skies above Maitland will be buzzing this weekend with the sound of the 2015 Hunter Valley Air Show. The event which will be held at Maitland Airport in Rutherford on the 4th and 5th of July promises to be…. Adults $30, Seniors concession $25, Children $15, Family (2 adults + 2 children) $80. Children under 5 FREE.

The event runs from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on both Saturday and Sunday.
A variety of food stalls will be available throughout the airshow site.
Visitors are permitted and encouraged to bring chairs with them as there are no chairs for spectators.
WHAT YOU’LL SEE
The big drawcard this year is the Pracey Racing team with their L-39 Albatross Jet. The Sky Aces Aerobatic Team show is also something not to be missed. They are Australia’s only high energy civilian aerobatic team and will be displaying their extreme manoeuvres at the Hunter Valley Airshow! The team consists of Australia’s best aerobatic pilots spear headed by Paul Bennet Airshows and promises to leave you wanting more as they demonstrate their death-defying flying skills.
Other aircraft on display during the event includes the T-28 Trojan, a P-51 Mustang, some L-39 Albatros’, the Grumman TBM Avenger, a P-40F(Mk II) Kittyhawk, the CAC Wirraway and the Russian Roolettes will be using a 4 Russian Yak52’a and 2 Chinese Nanchang CK6’s.
HOW TO GET THERE
The Maitland Airport is located at 604 New England Hwy, Rutherford. If you’re taking the car here’s a link to a google map. It’s important to note that there’s no parking allowed on the highway and limited parking available onsite.
We’d recommend taking advantage of the FREE BUS service. It will run from Maitland Train Station and pick up points on MIRAGE ROAD and at MAITLAND SALE YARDS.
Other option is to take a bus trip to the event with Avid Travel. The Avid travel bus trip includes complimentary morning tea. For more info visit their website.

There will be limited general admission parking available on site with offsite parking available to the east of the airfield in Mustang Drive. A shuttle bus service will operate throughout the day between Mustang Drive and the main entrance gate.
The event is an alcohol free zone no alcoholic beverages are allowed onto the airshow site.
There won’t be ATMs available at the show and patrons should bring ample cash to purchase refreshments, and souvenirs. Joy Flight operators will be able to provide eftpos facilities to their customers only.
