Seven pianos have been placed around Newcastle for people to play and listen to and we want to see you play ’em!
Tomorrow Newcastle Live will be out and about taking footage of people playing the pianos at various locations around the city.
A community placemaking collaboration between creative arts mainstays Dean and Sebastian Winter and Newcastle NOW, “Keys to the City” was launched today with all seven pianos making their debut appearance in the Civic Theatre courtyard (Wheeler Place).
Following the launch one piano will remain in Wheeler Place and the remaining six will be relocated around Newcastle.
According to the orginisors the pianos are located at the following spots around the city;
Wheeler Place adjacent to Civic Theatre, Hunter Street, Newcastle
TAFE Building at 590-608 Hunter Street, Newcastle
Anaconda alcove, Corner of Hunter Street and National Park Streets, Newcastle
Hamburger Haven: 451 Hunter Street, Newcastle
Nobbys Lighthouse, open 10am-4pm every Sunday, free admission
