Newcastle’s own Trophy Eyes have announced a massive hometown show at The Cambridge Hotel in August, with a local lineup that is absolutely stacked.
Since forming in 2013, the band have been on an absolute whirlwind journey. Trophy Eyes released their debut album Mend, Move On through Hopeless Records in 2014, earning them the ‘Best Newcomer Award’ in Blunt’s Readers’ Choice Awards. Their album combined emotionally driven lyrics with an aggressive pop-punk style that won them fans in Australia and abroad.
In 2015, the band hit the road, playing 130 shows across 21 countries; which included multiple tours of Australia, playing with Neck Deep in the UK, and touring as part of the iconic Vans Warped Tour in the US. 2016 promises to be an even bigger year for the band. They kicked it off by playing Unify Gathering 201 alongside Parkway Drive and Tonight Alive. Followed by an announcement that they were the main support for The Amity Affliction on their sold out Australian tour.
Their hometown show is an all-local affair, bringing together some of Newcastle’s best heavy bands. Hardcore darlings Staunch who have spent the year playing several high-profile support slots for some of Australia’s best hardcore bands. Eat Your Heart Out; the winners of triple j Unearthed’s Groovin The Moo competition that saw them open up the Maitland leg of the festival. And three of Newcastle’s most promising bands; Pasha Bulka, Hindsight, and Rumours. It’s a massive show that is sure to pack out The Cambridge Hotel. Tickets are on sale now from BigTix.
