Three of Newcastle’s busiest musicians have come together and decided to throw their repertoires, their vocal abilities, their sense of humor, and three or four instruments into a melting pot and see what they can cook up for a Wednesday night residency at The Duke Of Wellington Hotel in Lambton.
The Residents are Karyn Raftery (The Rumour, Iguana), Gareth Hudson (Good Company, Gareth Hudson duo) and Jason Bone (The Freetones, Jason Bone solo.). They have all been prominent in the Newcastle music scene for a ridiculous number of years, and are highly respected musicians, in demand in all of their musical projects. All three are also teachers for their chosen instruments, so basically, they live and breathe music!
Performing songs in their very own way, with three vocals, guitar, bass, keys and possibly sax, the repertoire will include artists such as The Police, Indigo Girls, The Waifs, Vance Joy, Stevie Wonder, Fleetwood Mac, Alanis Morissette, 1927 and more.
The result is sure to be a whole lot of fun, a few “hold on to your hat” moments and something you won’t see anywhere else.
