The Patriots call it quits

Local indie band, The Patriots have taken to Facebook to announce that they are calling it quits. Members of the band who achieved great success over the last 12 months,  including winning a Triple J Unearthed competition that saw them play at last year’s Groovin’ The Moo, have announced they will move on to form AUXFIRE.

In the statement (embedded below) the band thank the people who have supported them on their journey with The Patriots and urge them to follow what they have planned with their new project AUXFIRE.

“The amount of overwhelming support we’ve received from people far and wide who genuinely believe in this project has given us hope to do the unthinkable, start a new band. Auxfire!” the statement reads.

The only member not to make the shift to AUXFIRE will be bassist, Drew Abell-King.

“This new band has a refreshing fierce untainted energy behind it that we can’t wait to show you all! It will see the departure of Drew Abell-King on bass (whom we wish well with he’s future endeavors, no doubt we will remain super-friends till death.) and welcome Jackary Clark to the position, he’s commitment and musical ability thus far has been the craziest shit ever, the new band is very anxious to continue further”.
