Australian rock band, Baby Animals are renowned for their amazing live shows. And according to their lead singer Suze DeMarchi, that’s what the band will be delivering when they hit Newcastle on November 1 as part of the huge line-up for the Live At The Foreshore Festival at Camp Shortland.
Late last week we had the pleasure of chatting to Suze. We started out by asking her why she thinks people still get excited to see bands like the Baby Animals when they come to town.
“People know what they’re going to get from us. We know what they want, and that’s what we give” she tells us over the phone from Sydney.
Our conversation then moved onto current touring acts and how she thinks bands like Baby Animals and others on the Live At The Foreshore Festival bill differ from their contemporaries,
“I think the main difference is that there’s not as much focus on the body of work anymore. Kids just want singles”.
Suze knows a thing or two about the recording business. As the front lady for the Baby Animals, DeMarchi enjoyed unrivalled international success. When the songstress returned to Australia, she did so after a stellar 20-year stint filling sales charts and playing arenas throughout the world.
Suze DeMarchi plays a solo show at Lizotte’s on October 2 and the Live At The Foreshore Festival with Baby Animals on November 1.
