When Jonathan “Kid” Khor left Sydney instrumental rock band sleepmakeswaves it left a big space to fill. After an intense audition process, the band are headed back to the tour bus with new axe man, Daniel Oreskovic. They play Newcastle’s Cambridge Hotel on 10 August.
This is the last time sleepmakeswaves will tour on the back of their album, ‘Love of Cartography’, as they plan to head to the studio to record new material. The run of shows that will see the band in Newcastle, also marks the tail end of the 50+ date tour.
Heading to Newcastle with sleepmakeswaves are American band, The Contortionist and Perth juggernaut, Tangled Thoughts of Leaving.
Since their inception in 2006, the band have developed a devoted following around the world for their innovative and expansive music and magnetic live show. Their album, ‘Love of Cartography’ has been nominated for an ARIA Award, a J Award and an AIR Award.
