Kicking off the Live At The Foreshore Festival on Sunday November 1 are two bands from Newcastle’s very own Rosie’s School of Rock. They’ll share the stage Aussie legends James Reyne, Baby Animals, Mark Seymour and the Undertow, Shannon Noll, Choirboys, Moving Pictures and Monsters of Rock.
Over the last 2 months, Rosie’s School of Rock’s leader Craig ‘Rosie’ Rosevear and his students were very instrumental in raising funds for sick children at Ronald McDonald House. Rosie took part in the 5-day 500km bike ride with 30 others, starting at Moree and ending in Newcastle.
While Rosie and friends were pedaling like mean machines, the students were raising their own funds through selling chocolates, busking at McDonalds and partaking in a Battle of the Bands. All up, over $200,000 was raised for Ronald McDonald House. Two of the bands, 7-piece all-girl band Teen Spirit and rock trio WSA trumped by raising the most $$ at the school and won the opening slot at the prestigious Live At The Foreshore Festival on Sunday November 1.
The chance to perform on a big outdoor stage on the beautiful Newcastle foreshore amongst such amazing talent should prove to be an incredible experience for these young kids.
Tickets are on sale now.
