Established in 1954, the Newcastle City Choir is one of the city’s oldest choral ensembles. On Sunday 15th May, the Newcastle City Choir will be presenting ‘Rejoice!’, a concert featuring the works of Benjamin Britten, John Rutter and Antonio Vivaldi.
Callum Close, Musical Director said “this is a landmark concert for the City Choir. It has been nearly 20 years since the choir collaborated with an orchestra, and this will mark the return of choral and orchestral music to our concert performances”, said Mr Close.
“We’ve been lucky enough to engage some of Newcastle’s best musicians for this concert” Close said. “We last worked with cathedral organist, Peter Guy, back in 2014 when we were recording CD, and I’m thrilled that we will be working with him again”, said Mr Close.
Tickets for the concert are $20.00 and includes a light afternoon tea at the conclusion of the concert. These can be purchased at the door, or online, via http://stickytickets.com.au/32216
