The Patriots win this year’s Groovin The Moo Unearthed competition

Newcastle indie rockers, The Patriots have scored the coveted local’s slot at next months Groovin’ The Moo festival.

Announced on air by Triple J’s the Doctor on Tuesday afternoon, the winner was chosen from a field of local artists who uploaded songs in the last few months to the Unearthed site. The

The Patriots have achieved quite a lot in a relatively shot space of time. As grand finalists in the 2012 Youth Rockin’ the Black Dog band competition the band went on to appear on the “Red Bull Bedroom Jam” in 2013. Lead singer, Joey Geyer, also won the APRA Young Songwriter of the Year award for The Patriots’ song “The Indie Song (Rescue Her)”.
