With two songs added to Triple J rotation and a spot at this year’s Groovin’ The Moo, Local band The Patriots are really making their mark on the Australian music industry.
In their last year of high school, Joey Geyer and the boys have kicked some big goals recently and this week were named as a Triple J Unearthed feature artist. In an interview for Unearthed Geyer said;
“We pretty much started out like 8 years ago doing the whole cover thing as little kidlets. We’d do everything from The Ventures to Nirvana. Since then I guess we just subconsciously took mental notes on what makes a band sound a specific way! Our sound is still developing and evolving though very much so…”
With their songs “Luxembourg” & “Flowers in the Long Grass” added to the song rotation on Triple J, Australian’s now have the opportunity to get into a band many Novocastrians have been raving since their first release and round of live shows.
Check out the songs added to the J’s playlist below, and if you’re lucky enough to have a ticket to the now sold out Groovin’ The Moo festival don’t forget to get in early to see the band lighting up the Triple J stage.
