THE OSMAN: Bec Pap, Darren Rolling Keys, battle of the bands & more…

The Osman -

The Osman is back with a preview of what’s coming up in his world. This week he’ll be chatting with, Bec Pap & Darren Rolling Keys, and heading off to see some live music at Lizotte’s and Wyong Leagues Club.

This Wednesday Night on Ossie And Friends, we will be joined by Bec Pap, a singer/songwriter from the Central Coast. Bec balances her music career with the joy of motherhood. Bec will be performing at The Secret Cafe at Charmhaven on the Central Coast this Sunday from 10am. I have seen Bec perform once and I was very impressed, Bec has a very interesting vocal sound and I am looking forward to a live acoustic performance of some of her work.

Another guest in the studio tonight will be Darren Rolling Keys, who also goes by the name of Darren Rolling Keys and Co. Darren is a workhorse on the music scene throughout the Central Coast/lake Macquarie/Newcastle and Hunter regions. Darren can be seen performing in Hotels and Clubs as far out as Denman and surrounding areas to the little cafes along our coastline.

Darren is multi-talented and can belt out a tune, excelling with his covers of AC/DC, Cold Chisel, Paul Kelly, INXS and many other Aussie Classics as well as his own mix of original masterpieces. Not only is he an accomplished singer/songwriter/guitarist, he is also quite handy on the Keyboard, which his name, Darren Rolling Keys suggests.

Darren has just released his debut single, You Would’ve, a song that is close to his heart and written with a purpose. Darren will play live and acoustic for us in the studio and we will be chatting about his music and upcoming gigs.

I am also looking forward to a phone chat with a couple of lovely Victorians, husband and wife team, Billy Bridge and Rebecca Lee Nye. Both Billy and Rebecca are solo Country artists in their own right, now also with a joint effort on their new song, We Knew. I will give that combined effort a run as well as Billy’s latest offering and Rebecca’s brand new single, I’ll Be Gone (You’ll Be Lonely).

With Aussie Ossie Radio, we have regular weekly programs, including Locals Only on a Monday Night which presents 3 hours of music from bands and artists from the Central Coast/Lake Macquarie/Newcastle areas. Locals’ music is also played throughout the week in various playlists on the station. Some other programs are Pedal To The Metal (Metal Show) 10pm on Thursdays, This Is Australia (60s, 70s, 80’s) 11am on Saturdays, High Noon Country on Sundays at 12noon and Blues and Roots on Sunday Night from 8.30pm

Musos are most welcome to send their music in to have it played on Aussie Ossie Radio and if you are local and would like to come to the Lake Macquarie FM 97.3 studios on a Wednesday Night to be part of that program, simply make contact via the Facebook Pages and we can book you in, We are currently booked out until late August, so get in as soon as possible to secure your spot.

I need to tell you about a really cool promotion at a live music venue on the Central Coast. VIBES at The Coast Hotel at Budgewoi are running a sensational promotion throughout the month of July. Each Thursday Night, not only are there three performers on stage during the night, there is a Facebook/Venue promotion going on. VIBES will be giving away a Fender Guitar each Thursday Night. This week’s “Bad Boy” is a Sunburst Fender Squire Bullet Strat. To have the chance to win it, you must be on the premises when the draw is made and must have purchased drinks or followed the instructions on the Facebook post. Check out @vibesaustralia for full instructions.
