Oh My Lord… Coffee And Associates

Last week I sat down and compiled a list of the best toasties in town. I thought, hey, with winter coming up why not give the people what they want and dish out the best of the best that comfort food has to offer. I stand by the list, (this list) and I love the fact that so many people are flocking to these incredible local businesses to dive head first into a toastie because that’s exactly what life is all about. The only issue with a top five list though, is the fact you can really only have five options or items or places or whatever else you decide to be riffing about at the time. But the list was written before I’d been to Lords Coffee and Associates on Beaumont Street.

Because like anyone on a typical sleepy Sunday morning, breakfast was on my mind. Unlike me, my girlfriend enjoys leaving the East End and doesn’t relish in the mundane of the every day routine, something I am always very thankful for. Which is exactly how we ended up at Lords sipping cold brew, chatting about this, that and the other, and eating two of the best toasties of our lives.

I’d never met or even heard of Newy’s favourite man about town Dan Mullet Lord Brown, but I was most definitely greeted like a friend. The banter was on point, the coffee was amazing and the atmosphere of the hole in the wall establishment tucked away at the end of Beaumont Street was the perfect recipe for a killer start to any given Sunday.

So, once you’ve hit up the toasties on the top five list (many times over, obviously) make sure you head to Lords on Beaumont street, you will not be disappointed. Try the Reuben like I did (obvious choice) or the classic Ham or… the ever elusive and almost mystical Toastie Project. No spoilers but there’s bacon and maple syrup and hopefully you’ve stopped reading this and you’re heading there this minute to wrap your teeth around some quality C-H-O-W!
