The return of the Steel City’s heaviest event is here! Newcastle Metal Meeting 2: The Secret of the Steel! will hit The Small Ballroom on December 19.
Metal Meeting 2: The Secret of the Steel! is a mini-fest of epic proportions, Newcastle Metal Meeting 2 showcases a variety of the area’s best metal bands, as well as bringing in some of the state’s heavyweights, to make for one massive day of metallic magnitudes.
Newcastle Metal Meeting plans to deliver a massive range of different genres within the metal field, from everything to death, thrash, doom, progressive, and power metal and everything in between. Headlined by of one Australia’s most epic bands, LORD, will be bringing their hard-hitting style of true heavy metal to the Newcastle stages for the first time in several years. After completing a massive national tour throughout October and November, LORD will be finishing off their year with a huge performance at this year’s fest.
They will be joined by gothic metallers, REQUIEM OF THE DAMNED, who will be releasing their long-awaited new EP on the night. After six years since their previous release, ‘Type I’, the band have been working with their new line-up on fresh material which they’ll be debuting on the night and are planning on quite the stageshow to accompany the release.
Also playing this year’s fest will be orchestral doom heavyweights RISE OF AVERNUS, symphonic death metallers THE SEER, technical progressive giants GODS OF EDEN, heavy hitters GRIM DEMISE, groove thrashers CHAMBERS OF INSANITY, death metallers NEKROLOGY, and local up-and-comers PURENVY and THE CHAOTIC PROJECT.
