What We Ordered From Nagisa
As we’d headed down for lunch on the harbour, we ordered from Nagisa’s extensive lunch menu. It features a selection of standard Japanese fare like Bento (Lunch Boxes), sashimi, gyoza, and ramen, but it’s also dotted with dishes like Yuzu Butter Scallops and Tuna Tartare with Avocado Cream.
It’s the first time we’ve been here for lunch so we went straight for the Assorted Bento Box (Tempura prawns, teriyaki chicken, salmon sashimi, gyouza, edamame, rice and salad) and the Chilli Pork Ramen (Ramen noodles in a pork broth with 12-hour slow cooked chashu pork belly, marinated egg, bean sprouts, shallots, black garlic oil and chilli paste).
The Nagisa Verdict
The lunch menu here is great value for money. The serving sizes were very generous – We challenge you to finish off the Assorted Bento Box, because we certainly couldn’t (and we were very sad to leave such a delicious meal behind!). While our resident ramen connoisseur wasn’t 100% sold on the Chilli Pork Ramen, he did say it was the best tonkotsu broth he’d tried in Newcastle. Oh, and the view is pretty darn hard to beat.
