There’s no doubt the buzz around the revival of the Narara Music Festival has been a pleasant surprise for organizers Adrian Buckley and Dan Burrows! Such has been the response to the Narara relaunch they’ve made the strategic decision to up the size of the festival site and move it to what is fast becoming the festival venue of choice on the Central Coast, Mt Penang Gardens at Kariong.
Home to Mountain Sounds and Girrakool Blues Festival, Mt Penang Gardens allows them to create an even better event experience and include camping in the first year.
Buckley & Burrows have been quick to point out that in line with their back to basics formula there will be “no glamping just camping at Narara 2017”.
The outdoor festival will also shun modern boutique festival trimmings by keeping it simple, and all about the music.
“There will be a fantastic licensed bar stocked with craft beers and others from sponsors Six String Brewery, quality food trucks for all kinds of tastes, but there will be no market stalls outside of an official merchandise tent so you can buy the music/merch of the bands you loved over the day & night,” Buckley says.
The one area organizers are quick to reinforce is that Narara Music Festival 2017 is not a nostalgiafest and the bill will be filled with some of the country’s finest up and coming acts across the rock, blues and psychedelia genres – to be announced in October.
The nostalgic nod to the original events comes in that the final two songs from each 2017 artist’s set will be covers of songs performed by bands at the original Narara. A rotating Like A Version if you will.
