‘The Southern Sessions’ is the new release from local entertainer Mike Pickering. The double album of ‘easy listening acoustic’ numbers from Mike’s live gigs will be launched at Lizottes on July 7 with funds going to charity, ‘Centre for Hope’, supporting local underprivileged indigenous and other youth.
Centre for Hope works with Australian youth aged 6 to 18 years who are suffering adversity through causes such as financial hardship, mental disorders, physical and learning disabilities, mental, physical and sexual abuse, substance abuse and suicidal tendencies and who, because of their circumstances, suffer a significant degree of helplessness.
Mike is currently sending people copies of the CD in exchange for a $20 donation to Centre for Hope, but you’ll be able to pick up a copy at the launch at Lizottes on July 7 too.
“I am so pleased with the results, I wanted to share the recordings with my friends and do a little good by raising some funds to help others – my amazing friends at the Centre for Hope who put their support behind me” said Mike.
