Singer, actor, broadcaster, television presenter, musical theatre performer and part-time dancer, Aled Jones is brining his eclectic mix of songs and stories to Newcastle’s Civic Theatre in February 2015.
Known not just as one of the most superb boy sopranos of all time, but a natural musician and a modest, charming boy. Aled’s unique and amazing voice brought him attention from all around the world, and contact with a myriad of famous faces including Princess Diana, Bob Geldof and Richard Branson. “The one thing I’ve always had is an ability to really deliver a song and put my heart and soul into it.
At just 16, Aled studied at the Royal Academy of Music, followed by drama at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. He has played several theatre roles including Joseph in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat and Bob Wallace in Irving Berlin’s White Christmas in London’s West End in December 2014. He made the semi finals of the hugely successful Strictly Come Dancing (UK’s version of Dancing With The Stars). He was also a presenter on Escape To The Country and Cash in The Attic for the BBC.
Last year he was appointed MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours and was also made an honorary Fellow of the Royal Academy of Music – a fitting reward for a man who puts his all into everything he does. 30 years, 30 albums and a new tour – there is a lot to celebrate.
Tickets for the show go on sale on the 19TH November at 9.00am. For more information on the show visit the Civic Theatre’s website.
