Author Cristian Perfumo has been living in Newcastle for five years. His fast-paced thriller novels set in the Argentinean Patagonia region are poised to be translated into english thanks to a Kickstarter crowd funding campaign.
His book, The Sunken Secret is a fast-paced historical thriller is based on the true story of the wreck of the British warship H.M.S. Swift in 1770 in Patagonia, and its recovery more than 200 years later. The problem is, there are very few Novocastrians who can read it, because it’s in Spanish.
Originally from Puerto Deseado in the south of Argentina, Cristian has now taken to crowd funding site, Kickstarter in an effort to raise funds to publish an english version of his first book.
The campaign reached 85% of the funding target in 9 just days and was selected as a Kickstarter Staff Pick!
Cristian will use the money from the campaign to pay a professional translator and proofreader at the cost of$2850, and to print and ship paperback copies of the translated novel to supporters who contribute $30 or more.
If you would like to get involved, you can visit Cristian’s page on Kickstarter and become a backer.
