Westfield Kotara’s new $55 million redevelopment will come to life during November and December with live music presented in partnership with Newcastle Live! But who’s playing when? We’re glad you asked.


NOVEMBER


Thu 26 (12:00 PM – 3:00 PM):  Jake Folbigg

Jake Folbigg is a 26yr old Solo Acoustic Musician who picked up the guitar at age 14 and never looked back. A regular at various venues around Newcastle, The Hunter and Central Coast, Jake draws inspiration from all forms of music and prides himself on achieving a great sound acoustically.


Thu 26 (6:00 PM – 9:00 PM): Holly Who

Powerhouse vocalists, sisters Holly & Jessica Clayton front an awesome wall of sound that oozes raw soul. With a smoking rhythm section, an incredible pair of creative guitarists and a set of fine hands on the organ/keys this is the make up of one dazzling band.


Sat 28 (6:30 PM – 9:30 PM): Loko

LOKO pride themselves on playing faithful reproductions of hits with fun and energetic vibe. The members of LOKO have developed their talent during the 80’s and 90’s in the renown Newcastle pub and club scene and continue to evolve to meet the needs of today’s crowds. They have played in respected local bands such as Nite Shift, Radio GaGa, Street Legal, Chosen Few, First Degree, Idol Motion, Your Move, Incognito, Scarecrow, Roadhouse & Alcatraz, to name just a few.


Sun 29 (1:00 PM – 4:00 PM): Chris Ah Gee & Jazzella

With a combined fan base of over 8,000 people, Chris Ah Gee and Jazzella are two of Australia’s most promising upcoming artists. Both self-taught singer/songwriter/musicians have managed to create a big name for themselves in their separate Queensland home towns, and have
come together to create an East-Coast Tour of Australia to launch their relocation to Sydney to pursue their careers.


DECEMBER


Thu 3 (6:00 PM – 9:00 PM): Hornet 

Hornet are a high energy, guitar-drive rock group, laying down a retro rock-influenced sound with a modern twist. Hornet′s successful style is simple, combining infectious tunes that girls love to dance to, with in-you-face rock. Blowing the roof off every room east-coast Australia has to offer for the best part of a decade, Hornet have released 5 albums under their original music moniker The Humm, experienced 3 top 10 singles in the Australian charts, and sold in excess of 10,000 units nationally.


Sun 6 (1:00 PM – 4:00 PM): Holly Wilson

Originally from the Hunter Valley, Holly Wilson is a Newcastle based vocalist, guitarist and entertainer. Holly loves nothing more than performing to a live audience and has been doing so for the past seven years.


Thu 10 (6:00 PM – 9:00 PM): Gareth Hudson Trio 

Gareth Hudson has established a remarkable early career as a composer, performer and record producer. Initially, Gareth studied classical piano and composition at the Newcastle Conservatorium of Music (1999 – 2002). Simultaneously, he formed and led The Good (1999-2006), releasing an EP and three albums, including Move Along which won an ABC Award in 2004. After completing his music degree, Gareth toured the UK and Europe with The Good, performing at festivals such as: The Edinburgh Fringe, The Whitby World Music Festival, and Milan’s Dolce & Gabanna International Fashion Show.


Sun 13 (1:00 PM – 4:00 PM): Josh & Joey 

Josh and Joey are an acoustic duo from Newcastle. Both grew up in musical families and began singing and playing instruments at a young age. They met at the Newcastle Conservatorium of Music while in their first year of University. Both graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor of Music majoring in performance. Realising their shared passion for harmony-based acoustic music, Josh and Joey decided to form the duo, focussing their efforts into expanding their repertoire, and experimenting with songs of different genres and styles. Harmonies are frequently used in the works of Josh and Joey, as well as gentle finger picked guitar, rhythmic strumming and live looping.


Thu 17 (6:00 PM – 9:00 PM): Hummingbirds 

Hummingbirds have a repertoire with everything you need to keep people on the dance floor at your wedding, local venue or corporate event. Hummingbirds play all the popular songs in all genres and can cater for any type of venue or your individual taste. The members of Hummingbirds were hand picked not only for their stunning musicianship, but for there love of entertaining. All members of Hummingbirds come with their individual playing or touring experience, including current signed artists or professional corporate cover bands from Sydney and Newcastle.


Sun 20 (1:00 PM – 4:00 PM): James Osborn

Ever since a very young age, James has been destined for music and performing. Being able to sing ever since he could speak, and first picking up a guitar at the age of 7, his passion was recognised early on. Now at the age of 16, James has developed into a young, talented and enthusiastic singer/songwriter, with big plans for the future.
