The small, waterside community of Lemon Tree Passage in Port Stephens will hold its first open mic ‘Lemon Jam’ concert on Sunday, September 27, with organisers inviting amateur performers to showcase their talents at the free outdoor event.
Staged on the fourth Sunday of every month at Henderson Park on the Lemon Tree Passage waterfront, Lemon Jam is a popular and colourful music event for all ages, with market stalls beginning at 10am and four hours of free entertainment starting at noon. But on September 27, organisers have decided to hold their first open mic version of the event, allowing entertainers of all persuasions – local or from outside the region – to enjoy stage time.
Entertainers, who will receive a small free, can be singers, dancers, comedians or magicians but need to pre-register their interest with Lemon Jam organiser Sheree Davey on 0438 315 017 or by visiting the what’s on page of www.lemontreepassage.nsw.au. Lemon Jam’s own Facebook page also has information on the event.
With undercover barbeques and numerous cafes within easy reach, the waterfront at Lemon Tree Passage on Port Stephens’ Tilligery Peninsula provides the perfect location to enjoy entertainment for the whole family. Locals to the region and visitors alike are invited to pack the picnic rug and join in the fun.
Lemon Jam is sponsored and funded by the Tilligerry Chamber of Commerce, Port Stephens Council and local businesses and began with an idea two years ago to bring the community together each month to celebrate talent.
