Newcastle collective, Justin Ngariki & the Dastardly Bastards have released the first offering from their forthcoming production. The cover of the Tommy Bolin’s funk rock classic, Shake The Devil is the perfect debut to showcase what the band have to offer.
The video clip was shot and edited by Newcastle’s Bob Corbett.
The band are in full flight here, but for me it’s the space between that offers the real magic. Ngariki is restrained and fluid over the top of the punch that Rob Bell, Marty Paget and Robbie Long create on Bass, Drums and guitar.
The recording really goes to another level during the sax solo though. Could Jason Bone be any more talented? I think not.
