Intense Australian talent, William Crighton is excited to unveil his album in a live space as he embarks on his first headline tour in April. The Burrinjuck local will stop into Mayfield’s Stag & Hunter Hotel on April 30.
There’s an energy building around new Australian talent William Crighton, and it’s not by accident. Crighton has stamped himself as one of our most exciting artists, his debut self-titled album introducing a storyteller with a rare depth to his lyrics. For the deep-voiced songwriter and intense live performer, there were no short cuts taken to arrive at this body of work. Beneath each track are thousands of kilometres, and within are stories wrought of trees and roads and dust, soaked in the essence of our ancient continent.
To mark the release of his debut album, William will embark on an East Coast tour with his exceptional 4-piece band and alternating special guests.
“I’m very happy to have my good mates and family playing with me on this tour. The album was recorded with an energy that really grows when we play live. The band is Matt Sherrod, Luke Crighton , Julieanne Crighton, Christopher Dale and myself. We’ll have a few very special guests a long the way as well.” he told Newcastle Live.
The album was recorded in William’s hometown of Burrinjuck, and produced and mixed by Matt Sherrod of Crowded House and Beck fame.
Check out this amazing performer live at The Stag & Hunter Hotel on Saturday, April 30. Tickets for this show are available here – https://events.ticketbooth.com.au/event/william-crighton-NEW
