Hunter Writers Centre will present the 2015 Grieve Project Live Reading this Saturday (Aug 22) in the Harold Lobb Concert Hall at University of Newcastle Conservatorium.

Now in its third year, the Grieve Project competition was originally only open to members of Hunter Writers Centre to mark National Grief Awareness month. In 2014 the writing competition went national and attracted the sponsorship of the National Association of Loss and Grief, the City of Newcastle, the University of Newcastle and Trade and Investment Arts NSW.

This year the Hunter Writers Centre will award $3000 in prizes, with first place receiving $1000. Winners will be announced at the ceremony on Saturday at 2:30pm and 20 pieces of poetry and prose will be read on stage.
