Another day, another hot local find, what a time to be alive huh? Today’s track comes from indie-rock kids Owls, who get all visually nostalgic with their latest offering ‘Jesus Let Me Fly’.

There are so many great vibes fusing together to make this track come alive, and it seems as though the Owls as a collective, have really found and honed their individual sound. A pinch of 60’s garage rock and a slice of the 90’s makes ‘Jesus Let Me Fly’ a breezy, cool, and very chilled listen from the Newy five piece. The track is about attempting to break from the clutches of the old, and flying forward and embrace the new – which is actually a great metaphor for the outfit themselves.

Watching the video, any local will be quick to point out some dark, desolate and down right wonderful corners of our town, reminding us all exactly why Carrington is one of Newcastle’s greatest suburbs. You heard it here first.
