Looking for an alternative to the swarm of pub-rock loving Newy crowds that are sure to hit the streets this weekend? Love local music but need a safe place to go that’s tucked away from the chaos of the V8’s? Never fear, Newcastle’s favourite 17 year old space cadet kween, Fritz, is here to make your lo-fi dreams come true. This Saturday the 25th is a special one for the young artist , I mean, what better way to celebrate your 18th birthday than to hold a delightfully wholesome all ages giggo at Tiny Boat at Softys and invite all your mates. Win. Win. Win.
Fritz’ (aka Tilly Murphy) debut single ‘Yuk’ launched onto the charts with a bang earlier this year, and was quickly favoured by the big man Dom Alessio, aka the ears and eyes of Aussie music.
Now backed by a full band, Fritz and her hype train are now bigger and better than ever. I swear this is not a gig you want to miss. Don’t be that person, who six months later complains you can’t get a ticket to her sold out gigs as she tours here there and everywhere. Jump on the band wagon (literally) now friends! Because there’s no telling what will happen when this wunderkind finishes her HSC.
Tickets are $10 at the door (cause you know, the local scene actually needs financial support to be a local scene) but all event details can be found here.
If it's on in Newcastle, it's on Newcastle Live
