Two months ago Good Corn Liquor’s frontman, Stu McKenzie was tragically taken when the band’s van collided with another vehicle on the New England Highway. Fellow band mates, Ben McCauley and Nicholas Wright, who were in the van with Stu when the accident occurred, are now on their long roads to recovery. The Good Corn Liquor Recovery Fundraiser to be held at The Lass O’Gowrie Hotel on the 18th of July is your chance to help out.
The organisers of the event hope to raise funds to support the boys and their families during an on-going healing and recovery process. And you can help simply by turning up and grabbing a drink as a third of the bar takings from the event are going straight to the the fund. Other ways you can contribute on the night include buying a ticket in the raffle to win a double pass to the Sydney Blues Festival, various band merchandise and other prizes. There’ll also be Flanno Stubby coolers, hot-dogs and corn on the cob to purchase.
Money raised on the night will go to things like, fixing musical instruments and replacing items like laptops that were damaged or completely ruined in the accident, purchasing items for future rehab and just general support to take some of the weight off immediate family.
The lineup for the fundraiser is a cracker and including bands and artists like…
THE PUNK-ROCK HILLBILLY
THE URBAN CHIEFS
THE EMPTY POCKETS
With more to be announced.
Ben McCauley is going to sit in with a lot of the bands and Nick and Murph will be dropping in to day g’day too.
If you are someone who is able to donate anything to raffle off on the day please call 0412323112 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
