Future Rockstars of Newcastle & the Hunter now have a fantastic platform to showcase their talent with a new initiative created by two identities who are integral to the local Music Industry.
Former Screaming Jet & Rosie’s School of Rock Principal Craig “Rosie” Rosevear & Director at Big Apachee Agency Marcus Wright have created an opportunity to connect up and coming local bands with a young audience as well as other professionals in the music industry with a Gig called Future Rockstar.
“The concept developed from a Professional Development Program we have been running at Rosie’s School of Rock for the last few years called Future Rockstar” says Rosevear.“The program aims to help young musicians write, record and perform their original songs . It’s been very successful with some of our bands performing on TV and one band, “Throw Me to the Wolves”, featured on Triple J.”
Big Apachee have worked with some of the biggest names in the Australian Music Industry including Hilltop Hoods. Director Marcus Wright sees the Future Rockstar Gig as “a great opportunity to work with the talent of the region. With so many great acts and limited opportunities to perform, the professional environment of the big stage, lights & sound of the Cambridge Hotel will be a career highlight for many young bands. It’s great to see local venues like the Cambridge Hotel making a commitment to the development of local talent.”
Headliners for the event with be winners of Rockin the Black Dog Band comp, “Arcades and Lions”, special guests will be indie rock band Throw Me to the Wolves.
The Future Rockstar Gig will be at The Cambridge Hotel on Saturday 4th June 2-6pm.
Entry is Free and under 18’s are welcome if accompanied by an adult. As an added bonus, Newy Burger Co. will be running a special promo from 1-6pm with burgers ‘2 for the price of 1’ for all kids.
