2:00 am - 5:00 am
A fashion show with a difference! Recycled Runway will feature second-hand clothes, with all your favourite brands, that will be sold at bargain prices! Raising much needed funds for local charity, Centre for Hope.
Come along from 2-5pm at The Grove – 130 Garden Grove Parade Adamstown, and enjoy a wonderful fashion show, delicious afternoon tea and a range of boutique market stalls.
The Centre For Hope is based in Windale and extends further out into Newcastle and The Hunter Vally working with disadvantage kids and their families through coaching and mentoring in over 20 schools. It also offers a Drop In Centre which is a safe and positive space for children after school and during school holidays where they are provided with healthy food, mentors to talk with, play sport, games etc. The Centre also provides many educational and fun programs to empower and inspire the kids such as Wheels For Hope, One Voice Mob community choir, a homework Centre, Film and Art projects and much more. All of these things create positive connections within our community and for all involved.
The Centre was founded by CEO Geraldine Moran who has won Lake Macquarie Citizen Of The Year, Hunter Hero Award etc. It’s a not-for-profit organisation that helps kids who are deemed at risk, by their schools or Family and Community Services, or who need help but have flown under the radar. Centre for Hope works with youth aged 6 to 18 years who suffer from adversities such as financial hardship, mental disorders, physical and learning disabilities, abuse, and who, because of their circumstances, experience a significant degree of helplessness.
Recycled Runway is a fun way to engage the community in raising funds for Centre for Hope and to make a difference to the lives of disadvantaged kids in our area. At the event, there will be opportunity spot the latest fashion trends on the Recycled Runway, get personalised advice from a professional stylist, and buy your favourite brands – second hand – at bargain prices.
It truly takes a village to raise resilient, healthy children and there are many local kids who miss out on basic support and essential services. Our goal is to raise at least $10,000 for Centre for Hope. This amount can feed the kids for a year at the Mount Hutton Drop in Centre or expand mentoring and coaching programs into new and much needed areas.
Grab your friends for a fantastic afternoon and help make a difference in our wonderful Newcastle community…..
