‘Digby’s Moon Mission’ is local author, Renee Price’s first children’s picture book. Earlier this year, Renee developed the book into a live stage show that sold out four shows at Newcastle and Lake Macquarie libraries. Now Digby Fixit Live! heads to preschools and primary schools for performances in the Newcastle, Hunter and Central Coast regions.
The premise is simple enough. One night, Digby Fixit wakes to find his room in too much darkness! Discovering the moon in a frightful state, he plans a clever mission to bring back the light of night.
Since the book’s publication, Renee has written and recorded several children’s songs to accompany the many missions of Digby Fixit. She has also adapted the story for a live show.
The show, ‘Digby Fixit Live!’ is performed by Renee and portrays the importance of friendship, working together and embracing imagination.
Renee Price began writing children’s stories in 2010 after teaching in early childhood and primary school settings for eight years.
In 2012, she held the role of Editorial Coordinator at Newcastle’s Child magazine, working within various aspects of the publishing industry, including reviews of children’s books and music and composing articles for the publication.
Renee now spends her days writing stories and songs for children, operates her own business and chases after her two young children.
