Balmoral Beach will again transform into a much-loved pop-up wine destination for the 24th annual Mudgee Wine and Food Festival at Balmoral Beach on Sunday 10th August, from 11am to 5pm.
For the first year, Mudgee Region Tourism will also introduce ‘Graze Mudgee at Balmoral’ – a VIP marquee event where guests are able to get up-close-and-personal with producers. Guests can ‘graze’ a menu of delicious local and seasonal fare by renowned Mudgee chef Rachael McCarthy, which will be expertly matched with Mudgee wines. Tickets to this event cost $45 with three different sessions on offer at 11.30am, 1pm and 3pm, which run for one hour each.
Entry to the festival is free with wine tasting packages available from $20, including a souvenir tasting glass.
Expected to attract thousands of food and wine lovers, the Mudgee Wine & Food Festival spans the entire foreshore of Balmoral Beach and allows Sydney locals the opportunity to chat to the producers of some of the best regional NSW wine and food.
A family friendly event, there’ll be a petting zoo for kids and live music throughout the afternoon from Matt Boylan-Smith.
The Festival will showcase the diversity of Mudgee Region produce and wines – from organic and sparkling varieties and delicate Riesling and Pinots to the full-bodied Cabernet, Shiraz and Chardonnays that Mudgee is acclaimed for.
Some of the wineries exhibiting include Huntington Estate, Well Mannered Wine Co, di Lusso Estate and Burrundulla Vineyard. Several Mudgee producers spanning both wine & food will also be at the Balmoral Event, including High Valley Wine & Cheese Company, and Gooree Park – who are gaining a following for their wine and Wagyu beef burgers
Visitors to the festival will also have the option to sign up to ‘win a Mudgee Sensory Escape’ competition, where the prize is valued at more than $2,500. This includes the weekend use of a luxury vehicle from Prestige Auto Traders to drive to Mudgee, two nights accommodation at the Mudgee Homestead Guesthouse and a full list of meals, wine and pampering to see the winners through their stay.
Free Shuttle Buses will be operating on a continuous circuit from Balmoral Beach to Military and Spit Roads via Raglan Street and Awaba Street throughout the day. For further information on the shuttle service and a route map, please visit www.mudgeewine.com.au.
Admission to the event is free with tasting packages from $20.
